Nippon dinner

My AGM invited the interns, branch managers and my supervisor for a farewell dinner last thursday. Well, somewhat impromptu as she invited us on the day i left.

We had our meal at En Grill and Bar. The AGM was really generous; immediately she ordered Asahi Draft beer for us.

I fell in love with Asahi draft beer right after the 1st sip. I think I would rank Asahi as my 2nd favourite beer after Brewerkz.

I think the beer matches really well with the grilled items:

Really love the pork belly with cheese and the fried ebi tempura sushi! Our AGM also ordered exotic Japanese side dishes such as GRILLED FISH GRILL MEAT and some uncommon sashimi. Well, she said best part to eat for a fish is the meat near the fish grills because its the only part that keeps moving 24/7 while it was alive. Uhmmm, okay.

I took a deep breath and tried the snapper sashimi. i seriously dont know to appreciate sashimi. probably the only sashimi i 'appreciate' would be salmon. well, not too bad.

the waiter/waitress(sorry i couldnt differentiate he/she is a man/woman) recommended some sushi with avocado and seaweed roe. since when seaweed lay eggs? or rather, since when plants lay eggs?

I was the last to finish my beer; by the time my jug was empty, my fellow partners had finished their shoju and white wine(ya, they had 2nd round of alcohol). Eric ordered sake for all of us. We chatted and gossiped(imagine our AGM and supervisor telling us juicy news about the company!) while drinking the sake.

Sake shiok!

the waiter/waitress taught me how to pour sake. i didnt know it is a form of art.

finally its dessert time. :D i shared soybean panna cotta with Wendy while my supervisor and AGM had Azuki red bean pancake. Eric as usual (aka the never-get-drunk), ordered umeshu (Plum liqueur) as his dessert.

We ended our dinner at about 9.50pm and headed back home.

I'm really glad to work in this company where your bosses are really good to you.

I'm finally back to school, but i kind missed my internship period. I felt a greater sense of achievement completing tasks assigned by my supervisor rather than completing school projects. -_- those torturous nightmares are haunting us soon.

anyway, if there's a chance, you should try this restaurant. I really love the combination of drinking beer while munching on to some yummy side dishes. :)

Goals

Okay i chose a frisbee photo to represent my goals since I played it hard on Sat and scored many goals(get the picture?). Beach Ultimate is so fun :).

(btw, this photo shows an end-zone. its like a football's goalpost)

I must say time really flies. (using the old cliche) With a blink of an eye, year 3 semester 1 commences; challenging modules, monstrous projects, 2 finance tests--fantastic gift from RMIT, and only-know-how-to-waste-time-foreign-lecturers await us.

Initially i wasnt used to switching from working mode to school mode; i typically wake up at 7am even though school starts at 3.30pm. And i couldnt get back to sleep.

I started packing and keeping all my good-old notes in my cardboard and discarded some notes that i kept since Year 2. I stuffed all my stationery into my 2-year-old pink pencil case, folded my Uniqlo cardigan and kept my usual notes and schedule into my transparent file into my bag. and i'm ready to kick the start of Year 3 :)

2 days has passed since the beginning of July. somehow, i wasnt concentrating during class. 90% of my time was chatting with my neighbours. i was practically waiting for time to pass.

anyways, i thought it would be good to set some GOALS since its the start of a 'new year':

1. Be hardworking-- read notes after lecturer has gone through
2. read finance before lesson. i got a feelin' that it's gonna be like accounting :x
3. make a habit to read newspaper EVERYDAY and start reading books that i bought it a year ago
4. be understanding and patient
5. save $$ (lots of it)
6. drink more water and cut down on sugar!
7. bake some cakes if have time :)
8. learn new things??
9. catch up on fashion design
10. spend some time with loved ones

hope i can follow the list religiously :x
