i just came back from San Fransisco and i'm going to Las Vegas in a few hours time!
but ya i cant do much there, besides going to Grand Canyon and shopping at those premium outlets. the rest is like seeing my cousins and aunties gambling their US dollars away. maybe i can watch from performance, but all these are pretty expensive. my current cash at hand is decreasing at an increasing rate.
I have been eating burgers and fries and grills and pizzas here, once we had to eat 4 fast food meals (burgers and fries) consecutively until i am so sick of it. so sick until all of us only eat asian food (ie CHINESE, thai, korean dishes). the fries are really nice here, so much better than the ones in singapore. but eating it consectively makes you sick.
i miss chicken rice and popiah now :(
cant really talk about disneyland and california adventure park now cos i needa chiong off to Las Vegas now.
talk next time!
(photos see FB!)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

its been a long time since i posted! (not that long though) now using my cousin's bf's laptop to blog. must be fast!
time fies really fast when i am in LA. somehow i lost track of time, since US time zone is vastly different by 16 hours/ nevertheless i enjoyed myself there, at least i managed to see some natural landscapes and people there are really friendly.
one the 1st day, we headed to Beverly Hulla, a place for rich people to shop around. however, as it as sunday, many shops were not opened. but it was really nice to see how labels decorate their shopfront( you would really be amazed if you were to view from a marketing persecptive). our 2nd stop was Malrose street, a place for young punk rockers, pretty similiar to bugis in Singapore, with graffiti all over the place. finally we headed to The Grove for dinner. Love there very much! you can view the picture from facebook. :)
went to disneyland and california adventure park yesterday and today! will blog when i'm free :)

just now i was flipping some old photos of mine. after looking at the photos in the albums, i realised i am catching up with age. oh man, i feel so old now :(
every photo tells a memory that i cherished, or something that i would really wish to avoid. each and every one of them records my stages of growth, the change in my personality and interest, and friends who crossed my path.
perhaps i have growth wiser, much more mature and attained perceptions that are much in depth. but somehow, i really wish to go to the past, where times seemed to be more carefree and happy, times when i can truly be myself.

I am going to miss my dear Karissa(see previous post) who is currently in the Philippines now, and she's gonna be away for a month! :( i remembered previously i sent her a "i miss you" photo, think that was back 2 years ago?)
I think i am almost done with packing. now what troubles me is the weather and $$$. according to USAToday, the weather has been very unfavourable; my SIM mates would have know that i am very afraid of cold, especially SIM's air-conditioners are constantly blasting as though it's free. currently, my luggage is filled with all my winter clothes. i hope there's some space for all the souvenirs and clothes from Forever 21 and Victoria's Secrets!
3/4 done with packing
i think i am going to change more though. i realised my current amount is perhaps just sufficient to get me by, but not enough to enjoy. hehe. but really, this trip totally burns a hole in my pocket, and mending it perhaps take a long long time.
2 more days to America. but somehow i dont feel a sense of excitement at all. maybe its some pre-flight blues that i am currently suffering from. maybe it's really hard for me to let go of everything temporarily in Singapore. Despite being in another continent, i will TRY to keep myself AORTA(always on real time available) by appearing on facebook, MSN and blogger(if i have the mood), but may be appearing on weird hours (ie, when you guys are asleep, i am awake).
to escape from reality somehow is a challenge. hope the adrenaline will rush when i arrive in LA.
Los Angeles, here i come!

A day out with Karissawahahaha, karissa, everyone knows who you are now. :p
anyways, on thursday i dated Karissa out right after her exams. i brought her to Far East Central for Ya Kun Kaya Toast at their flagship store there.
we had there for brunch and brought her around the CBD, since she hasnt been there before. while walking back to the MRT, we saw a gigantic christmas tree and nutcrackers guarding it at one of the buildings there.
after our brunch, we headed to Orchard to get my winter clothing and stuffs. while walking towards 313@ Somerset, we saw:
GIGANTIC LV BAG
Karissa holding the bag
seriously, when can this bag be mine? :(
we then saw a Ferrero Rocher Christmas tree!
was forced to crop it since some lady passed by the tree, causing a black blurry object at the right side of the photo.
finally we reached 313@Somerset after 10 minutes of walk. the first day of opening was horrifying crowded; everyone was as enthusiastic as me! :p actually my aim was to visit Uniqlo to get some winter stuffs but looking at the ultra long queue, karissa and i decided to head up to Food Republic to get our damn late lunch.
while having lunch, we had a long chat and sat there for quite some time, partially our legs were tired from walking (sorry karissa!). i ended up having hi-tea there as well.
old-fashioned cake from Toastbox, Raspberry Vanilla
the old-fashioned cake really has a nostalgic taste; full flavour of butter cream, but the cake doesnt taste cheapo-lata. A great complement for a cup of teh.
This year lady luck wasnt on me and my choirmates' side this december. somehow, the deals we used to have had been vanished, or disappeared. it really demoralised me a great deal, when i thought my marketing knowledge has been put into good use. commercial law was really useful, but somehow i was careless in the negotiation. i was pissed with myself initially, because perhaps i am the only one who understands the business law better than anyone in the group. through this incident, i have learnt my mistake. should have try to be on good terms with SK Yeo so that he can give me free law consultation! hehe.
there were other problems and stuffs as well, but if i continue to elaborate here would take up more than one blog post.
Perhaps because of these downs, i became more pessimistic.
somehow the future seems bleak.

wooohooo! i just watched NEW MOON with joyce, sarah and hengyi:)
yes, all the hunks and babe(s) are in the movie.
so envious of Kristen Stewart embracing hot bodies of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner!:p
well, the plot is typical; it is about the love between a human and a vampire, battling against all odds of dangers and disapproval from of Bella's best friend. Edward Cullen and his family were forced to leave Bella in order to protect her from vampire attacks. Being badly heartbroken, Bella perhaps unconsciously put herself in danger just to get back with Edward. while she did things that put her in jeopardy, she constantly see images of Edward telling her not to commit such actions. Meanwhile, Jacob discovers his supernatural identity and tries to protect Bella. He makes his feelings known to Bella, in the hope to replace Edward's position in Bella's heart.

i must admit it's a little draggy, seems like both Edward and Bella have a hard time expressing their love to each other. i like the way Kristen Stewart acting nonchalant for Bella's character. in this movie, i feel that the actors and actresses seemed to have become more mature in their looks; i thought Bella looks prettier in New Moon than Twilight.
I think i know why so many of my guy friends are not as interested as the girls in New Moon. besides the fact that they think that Robert Pattinson is not hot (or they are just jealous of his well-built muscles), it portrays girls' kind of ideal romance. which girl wouldnt want a guy who could love and protect her? may be they find it foolish for Bella to do things in order to get Edward back, i could empathise how she feels. sometimes, some girls do things just to get men's attention, because they yearned for their love.
rate? maybe 3/5. i passed it because the movie somehow followed the book pretty closely, but i feel more substance could be included. the ending was abrupt though.

Cousins @ Sentosa:
Since my little cousin is on vacation, Kelly and i decided to bring her to sentosa to play, and at the same time to suntan!

my cousins: Kelly and Vanessa

Me with Vanessa

presenting the threesome :)
We headed to Underwater world since we think it'd would be most interesting part of sentosa. anyways, PRs and Singapore citizens are entitled to 40% discount! for those who have never been there or didnt visit the place for like years, you may wanna revisit those lonely fishes.
the 1st thing that caught our attention was the touchpool:

and literally, its a pool for you to touch those fishes.

you can try touching those fishes above, but i dont really dare to touch them, especially those mini sharks(of course breeds that are harmless). i only touch the blue starfish. i tried to touch the puffer fish but it swam real fast.
after witnessing how visitors handle those sea creatures, i feel that the starfishes are having a bad time in the pool. because they seems to be most 'friendly' and harmless, everyone was trying to bring the starfish out of the water. they must have
not realised that starfish is a
FISH! and the board has indicated that no one should bring any fishes out and you can only TOUCH them. i actually tried to stop a man from bringing it out of the water by making some noise that hinted my annoyance. luckily, this man put the starfish back to its original position(although he didnt pay attention to the
tsk tsk sound i made).
Maybe i should start the protecting-the-starfish movement soon. hmmm.

this eel looks as though it is trying to be scary; at first i couldnt find it cos it was so stationary that the tank looks as though there's nothing but the corals.

fat fish; looks like fishes in underwater world are well fed.

this
sotong/cuttlefish looks so shy! haha. my little cousin gulped when she saw this after consuming a stick of fried cuttlefish from old chang kee. haha.

Octopus, reminds me of
takoyaki balls.

from left: Some giant crab, rainbow crab

cant remember the name of this crab

Unicorn fish
perhaps the most exciting part of underwater world- the conveyor belt:

trying to look like that fish, do i look like it?

doesnt that fish reminds you of one the ad in the newspaper whereby it is talking to a clownfish?
i think its
citibank?

Big and fat fish + fat shark

Vanessa with the aquarium
after the underwater world, we went to
siloso beach and suntan a little while.

sadly, the sun wasnt strong enough, and i'm still stuck with my original colour. :(
after suntanning, we went back to
Vivocity to have dinner at
Modesto. seriously, we spent a lot on this little kid!
we ordered set dinner, consists of carbonara and pizza, salad and tiramisu. total costs $48, not too bad, really a big serving. you will love it if you are a big eater.

i love the tiramisu! really a balanced taste of the alcohol with the cake :)
