yeay man :), i can finally dump the provisional driving license now.
i didnt want to fail again.
but i was feeling pretty steady; i made used of changing gear as a way to actually slow my movements and reduce my tenseness. at least try to avoid making those "crack" sounds when u actually clutch in to change gear. you know, i am just a tense person, so i actually masked my nervousness in front of the instructor by showing that i am steady with my gear changing.
but i was also lucky that i got the easiest test route. my first test was the hardest route among all.
cant wait to drive on the road again, but this time, without my instructors :)

Food Review: Choupinette
i accidentally chanced upon this cafe when si yuan and i were hunting for a place to have our breakfast. we intended to survey the price first but once we entered, we were absolutely mesmerised by the interior design.
i know my recent posts have too many food for you to look at.
but being a food enthusiast, i believe i should share my delight to you guys, right? :P
anyways, this little french cafe beside Coronation Plaza is really worth a try, especially you want a hearty breakfast, a little cosy place for privacy and friendly staff to serve your needs.

Gigantic Chocolate Doughnut
Peizhen ordered this extreme big doughnut to fill her stomach's need. i took a bite from her plate, and oooozzz, the chocolate is delicious.
butter-sugar bread
i couldnt remember the french name for this bread. but this french pastry goes so well with a steaming hot drink. however, i prefer if the bread is freshly baked, so that the butter would be dissolved into the bread thoroughly, and definitely it will taste better.

sadly, i believe the breakfast is pretty pricey...i would certainly hope that they would eliminate the service charges so that students like me can enjoy french pastries.
if you need time to digest your food, or perhaps to spend some romantic moments with your companion, you may take a stroll in the Botanical Gardens by taking a 10 minutes walk from the cafe. :) nothing can be compared to nature at its best yea?

Foodie trip @ Joo Chiat
special thanks to our tour guide Kenneth who showed us the wonders of the east side; a haven for great food, and a place with strong cultural infusion.
we headed to our first stop: the Popiah stall
they also sell beef noodles as well
we order 1 set each just to have a taste of it. critic? it wasnt as good as i thought it would be. the popiah was disappointing though. although the skin was good as claimed by the food gurus, i feel the fillings was pretty ordinary. the turnip shreds did not excite my tastebuds.
2nd stop: wanton mee i would definitely recommend this wanton mee. spicy chilli and juicy wanton. what more can you ask for, especially when the price is $2.50?

Singapore Arts Festival @ Marina Barrage

Guitar lesson @ Ruby's place (thanks to Nurul for her photoshots)
as mentioned in my previous post, i decided to spend this holiday picking up something new.
a few of us headed to Ruby's house at Bedok. that day a few of us were pretty lucky as the lift was down. thank god it was still functioning otherwise we would be climbing 17 flights of stairs.

all of us were seriously strumming our guitars
with my 7 year old guitar, which initially belongs to my brother
and our teacher starts mesmerising us with her voice once more
after 1 day of learning the chords, we decided to head down to tampines one to have our dinner. unfortunately, because it was a friday evening, the mall was absolutely crowded! everyone is fighting for place to eat. seriously the crowd was so so so terrible!!! i was really thankful that the west side population is relatively smaller than the east side.
we finally settled down to swensens at tampines mall and had supper at cafe cartel.
i need to polish my skills. i seriously have no flair in guitar.
i need more guitar lessons!!!

have you put yourself in many thoughts?
one particular day i was on the train, and i started harbouring many thoughts. from random thoughts to some major factors, and i was amazed with the size of my brain.
try not thinking about anything for a minute. can you?
perhaps with some form of yoga and meditation, i would be able to do so. but i believe most of us cant. and every single second, we are all thinking.
so while i was on the train, i started flipping through the bizarre thoughts of mine. one moment i was thinking pessimistically about my driving, i was always so afraid that i would fail again. i felt so embarrassed to meet my instructors again. another moment i was thinking of my expenses; i really have no more money left. the next moment i thought of my grandmother.
my thoughts seems like a timeline; the next instant i thought of what my life would be if i had not done so badly for my A levels. i imagined myself studying in NUS and the difference that would happen if everything went smoothly the way i thought it would be. i also recalled those bitter times when i was in JC; how i struggled so badly, especially with physics. my memory lane went down to the age of 16, when i had to choose my education path between poly and JC.
and suddenly, i felt my life wasnt as colourful as what it should be. i felt somewhat suffocated with regrets and responsbilities.
at this instant, an voice system of the train just burst my balloon of thoughts.
i was glad that i do not think of such stuffs when i was immersed with retail therapy. :)
come to think about it now, i realise all of them were pretty pessimistic. if we learn how to keep looking forward and learn the mistakes we made from the past, then life would be balanced. sometimes if we could slow down our implusive thinking, then that moment of folly would never occur.
till now, i am still learning to relax and balance.
and to remain positive.

Chocolate Strawberry Tart
it looks like a cake right? but it's a tart, a tart that is a regular size of a slice of cake. Pei Zhen and i just fell in love with our tarts immediately after we had our first mouthful.
Chocolate Banana Tart
i got to know about this tart after reading the food review in the Straits Times and i truly agree with her comments :)
one plus point i like about the tart is that it is not too sweet and the cream is taste pretty "light", so you wouldnt get sick after eating those cream. for those who condemns cream as fattening, there are other alternatives such as melon tart and caramel banana tart.
after our first bite, Pei Zhen and i couldnt stop ourselves after that. haha. after finishing the entire tart, i would really wish to go for another tart. sadly, i need to save some space for chalet food.
with such beautiful decoration of the tart, no girls would simply resist it to try. :)

Jokerz' Chalet:
chalet was held at Home Team Pasir Ris and i must say the chalet is pretty run-down, but still, with all the activities, it was still fun :)

Frisbee match was fun! really didnt run for ages since i've to prepare for my exams. i felt apologetic to my teammates cos i sometimes will tend to shout across the field, and i know my throws are fierce. i felt guilty showing the frisbee side of me, and i didnt mean to do that. please dont take it into offence. i really dont mean it. :(
the majong kings and queens, seriously they can survive on majong without sleeping
besides majong, a few of us are playing Bridge. seriously, i've stopped playing Bridge since i've graduated from PJ. also, another group were playing Risk. we played till 5 plus in the morning. feeling really really tired, we decided to nap for a while, till the time to book out.

we should have more of such bonding activities in the future :)
