i took this photo from my room window yesterday.
it was pretty cloudy yesterday, and i thought the clouds look fluffy enough.
as you can see,
how bored i am from studying. muahahaha
i like this photo though; it somehow represents my current mood.
okay enough of my nonsense. back to studying again.
entertain yourself please :)

Provence Bakery @ Holland V:
Yesterday, Linnet and i met up at BBDC and went straight to Holland V to study. i brought Linnet to the katong laksa coffeehouse and tried their laksa since it's recommended by the media.
it was pretty disappointing though. i didnt take any pictures of it cos i believe it is not worth recommending. the laksa gravy is perhaps too 'diluted'; i prefer concentrated based though. the laksa isnt as spicy as it ought to be.
till now, i only love the katong laksa which i ate it 2 years ago, at Katong Road. the image was pretty vague as i was only perhaps concentrating on the bowl of laksa rather than the landscape there. i remembered it was an olden day style coffeehouse, seems very run down as the red paint was dropping off. the coffeehouse had 2 levels, with customers filling up the space. i would really love to go back there to reminisce those times when my uncle brought me and my cousins there. sadly, i dont even know if this red building has demolished, given the poor condition of the 2 storey shophouse.
after our meal, we went to Provence Bakery, which is just across the road. i bet if you enter this Japanese bakery, you would be so tempted to buy something from there.
Going out with Linnet too much will make me fat soon. haha. she always tempts me to eat more.

Cheese cake
Linnet bought this 'cheese cake' which doesnt seem like a cheese cake. it seems like a cheese danish to me. verdict? the cheese is light, so you wouldnt get sick if you keep on munching on it. Linnet loves her cheese cake very much. i couldnt say much cos i only get to eat a bite.

Cinnamon roll
i bought Cinnamon roll instead since i am always crazy with desserts that contains cinnamon. the amount of cinnamon is just right and it isnt too sweet as some other cinnamon rolls. the serving is pretty big though. suitable for a hearty breakfast to kick your day away. it would be best if you munch it along with a cup of coffee :)

Wassant
Long heard of their wassant are so damn nice(and also a lady keep on recommending to us), linnet and i tried our luck to see if we could get some wassants from the bakery. and its out of stock; you need to pre order in order to savour their wassants. i would really want to try their chocolate and cream wassant soon :(

tired!
We went to Coffee Bean to study since Starbucks is pretty occupied. can see how bored i am. i took this picture to show how many pink stuffs i have with me. hahaha. i'm not obsessed with pink, but it's just that it is just a coincidence that everything i bought is pink! after our revision, we went to SIM hostel for frisbee training. playing in the rain was fun :)
anyway, my exams are up soon in 11 days(OMG) time. i need to buck up and my computing project is not complete yet. wont be blogging that often until exams are over. MUG FOR EXAMS!!

SMU GRAB HUCK SCORE 2008:
Saturday was a friendly competition between SIM and other schools. SIM won 2nd position in both plates and cup category!
Before heading to Sengkang, i had my driving lesson and i totally suck at U turning!! arghhhh. the intructor kept on scolding me. but i became better after turning a few rounds. going for another lesson tomorrow and i'm going to stop after this due to my exams.
i met up with Pei Zhen and Wen Xian at Chua Choa Kang. sadly, Wen Xian is camera-shy.
he just took a photo of us!
here are some snapshots that i took during the competition(since i wasnt playing):

i really learnt a lot from my seniors and various schools. it was really an enriching experience for me. not only i get learn techniques and better pivoting methods, i got to see the "emotional" side of ultimate frisbee. and that is, good sportsmanship. after the game, players will make a circle together with their competitors, and thanking each other for the game.
Ultimate frisbee is somewhat different from other sports; we dont have a referee to determine if we commit an offence. based on our integrity, we decide how the game is played. so that lies the beauty of frisbee :)
Super Dao
and we had our drinking session, as a tradition for SIM ultimate:
Thats is absolutely nuts; and this guy on the right happens to be NYP coach. muahaha. coach leh
>
with Teng, Linnet and myself :)
Grab Huck Score Participants
and finally after the game, we had our dinner at Sakura. we reach there at 7.30pm but we have to wait till 8.30pm, because of the peak hour and the restaurant had to clear seats of 25 just for us. haha

Coffee Talk @ Starbucks
this evening after Marketing lecture, Pei Zhen and i headed to Holland V for a meet-up. for those who knows that Pei Zhen and i are in the same course, you must be thinking that we are nuts to meet up just to talk.
though we are in the same lecture, we hardly sit with each other since we usually sit with our projectmates. even if we sit together, we seldom talk since we need to concentrate. because of projects, we hardly go home together. so there are many stuffs for us to catch up; i wasnt even aware that she has changed her phone. since we are close friends since JC days, i feel that there is a need to keep this bond; i'm somewhat afraid that the closeness will fade. nevertheless, i believe our friendship is still going strong :)
we had desserts for dinner. haha. we went to starbucks and ordered our food. i ordered my usual caramel macchiato and low fat banana walnut loaf(insert). i wouldnt say the bread is fabulous but well, just to make do with it. i think the banana bread that i baked before tastes better ;).
since my mouth is still craving for food, we headed to breadtalk and got a chocolate bread that has a generous filling of chocolate. initially i would like to having carrot cake from crystal jade but everything were sold! that bread(i cant remember the name) was really good; costs 1.30 despite a small size. but ya, it's well recommended for chocolate lovers like me.
recently its been a chocolate week for me. i have to stop indulging in chocolates!
Frisbee tournament tomorrow. i'm going down to give my support.
JIA YOU for SIM :)

Wonder how frisbee training is like?

yes we need lotsa stretching in case if we strain onto our muscles.....

More warm ups

Vertical Stack up can never be so messed up...
above pictures shows the weekly training of ultimate frisbee, just purely our leisure mates there.
Frisbee is fun....
but arent sure if i still love frisbee has much as before(see previous post).
Anyways, this week is PROJECT week; my projectmates are complaining on MSN now. haha. we will having our usual meetings from morning till evening(or night) and we never end on time. haha. but still, all these hard work is going to be OVER!
flicking of disc tmr after project with Linnet.
I hurt my toe again :(

Frisbee Mates
Okay, dont care how i look. i know i looked pretty horrendous with my sweaty fringe and poising myself in an unglam look.
look how fair i used to be in the past; i'm absolutely tanned now :(.
my toes are turning purple because of my new adidas cleats.
see how much i've sacrificed for Ultimate Frisbee. haha.
anyway, thats not the main point.
Last Saturday, i had my training at West Cost Park. Eugene was announcing who's going to take part in the next competition. and it wasnt me. i was quite glad because i dont intend to take part after knowing my shitty results for Accountancy and ya, i am definitely not ready for competition given my amateur skills.
i feel somewhat demoralised when eugene was telling me, "Karen, you arent pivoting!" when i didnt pivot when my defender was blocking. i felt pretty useless and guilty when i pulled my teammates down, especiallly when we were doing drills. sometimes i just couldnt catch the frisbee. i felt like an idiot when i couldnt catch the frisbee that kenneth had passed to me during the game.
i am not feeling very happy actually when i am training when the compeitive team. somehow, cutting into that circle seems inappropriate, especially when they are so bonded together. somehow, we felt displaced. i still feel happier with my leisure mates, when we just laughed our heads off, and no stress were there. just playing the game and friendship bonds.
Frisbee is fun but it aint fun anymore if i feel somewhat perturbed over it. isnt frisbee supposed to be a fun game afterall ?
