Yesterday was pronounced the end of my work at
Ngee Ann Poly.
i was really tired to blog for past week since i've been going home at 6plus and i have to teach on Wednesdays and Fridays.
but still, work was fun. i think Karissa and Ke Min would have agreed with me. :)
ambassador of NP's blazer!i simply
love the blazer, perhaps because i've never wore a blazer for any purposes and the cutting of the blazer is very nice. and the blazer is definitely very multipurpose; i used it as a jacket since the blazer fitting room was
freezing.
i am not some ambassador of the blazers(
sigh); i am involved in the graduation project as a student assistant giving out blazers to the ushers. i get to meet some
hunks(or hotties as described by ke min) from the
business and
real estate schools. :) i also met some of my Secondary, Primary and PAE classmates there.
usually after all ushers have taken their blazers, we usually have nothing to do. so we spent our time playing
Bingo with our mini supervisors
Adha and
Chong Sian(aka
WuZhongXian!) and Karissa and Ke Min ended up doing forfeits! it was really hilarious when ke min was doing her own version of coconut dance while karissa was singing her country's national anthem. too bad we didnt have the chance to film them :(. Karissa also had to ask the first person who stepped into the room for an autograph. the entire scene was really funny and embarrassing.
we also watched
chronicles of the narnia and
xiaxue's mini episodes together(see how much time we had!). we enjoyed lazing around while chatting and gossiping about
the evil stepmother(which is our superior supervisor).
we had a great amount of time exploring one quarter of NP and
splurged a lot of money on
food. seriously, we dont care the fact that our daily pay was
$45 and we never bothered to save. we knew that we wouldnt have any more chances to visit NP just to get the food there. NP seems like a
food hunt for us girls. haha. we love the
smoothies from
Sao Paulo and the
sandwiches from
Four Leaves there. sadly i didnt have the chance to taste the famous
butter rice from four leaves and the
toast from the vending machine in
OurSpace.this work was one of the most fun and slacking job i ever had. with the company of the
siao-ding-dong Ke Min, the
perfectionist Karissa, the
introvert WuZhongXian and the
only-know-how-tease-people Adha, being a student assistant is really fun :)

i will upload about pictures after Adha has sent the photos to us.
i will miss the times the 5 of us were together struggling during the
peak period and moving down the blazers when the weather was
unkind to us :(. thank you Adha and WuZhongXian.
and thank you Mr Winston Lim for all your
go-the-extra-mile orders and being
sooooooooo nice to us. hahaha. but overall, you are still nice in the eyes of everyone.

dear blog,
i visited Mr Koh's blog on the 20th and tagged him a message:
"hello Mr Koh! :)glad to see you on College Day. I've decided to heed your advice and go for SIM instead. "
he replied me with this:
"dear karen.. no matter where you go, carry your industrious personality with u. you possess in you the drive to succeed no matter where you go.. it's a gift you always have in u.. so live it to the full :)"
so inspirational right??
he's always so inspirational and wise.
you will feel enlightened if you read his blog or attended his GP lessons before. look for his link in the fourth picture above my post, under Pioneers. :)
a day of rest really makes a difference; i've regained my voice! :)
but i must really heed my doctor's advice; she told me that teaching is really not suitable for me as i always visit her like once every month. anyway, it's holidays for the kids now. i'm almost jobless currently :).
i'm going to work in Ngee Ann Poly with Kari, Ke Min and Xue Lian for a week, distributing blazers to ushers and do some administrative work. and i'll be jobless after that.
going for beer brewing later!

i've lost my voice.
i have a really bad flu and sore throat.
thought yesterday my throat was alright, so i decided to teach today. after teaching the last class, i realised i was losing my voice. i refrained myself from shouting. but you know, these kids never understand my condition.
i was really really exhausted. after school, i went to the doctor immediately and slept until 5.30. i couldnt even conduct my tuition. hope my kids are okay. :(

i am quite sick of teaching actually; i even want to quit my tuition away. not only teaching is involved, planning, photocopying materials and disciplining kids are part and parcel of a teacher's job. i wish to quit but i feel obliged to teach my kids; i believe it's irresponsible to leave my kids in lurch just because of my selfishness. and the parent entrust their kids' education to me! i hope that Mr Tan will just dismiss me if PA doesnt accept me as a trainer(he has not send my application as an official tutor yet).
my savings account is drying out now :(. guessed i've spent too much on EVERYTHING! i'm such a spendthrift.
i've paid my deposit for SIM. i think 99.9% SIM is going to be my future education hub. ah well, what can i do right? given my current results, i doubt any local university will accept me. furthermore, SMU has sent out their rejection letter to me :( all my hopes are lost. anyway, Mr Koh said SIM education is not bad and he has students doing very well there. maybe this is my consolation prize.

Tomorrow is beer brewing session :)
cant stand my hoarse voice seriously.

College day:Si Yuan and I met up at 11.30am to take a look around Lot1, which has expanded their floor space and include some boutiques such as Cotton On(which only turns me on). we met the rest at 12 for lunch at Pizza Hut. i have not get the Pizza Hut photos from Xue Lian, wil get from her soon :).

the pizzas are good, but still, clean your forks and knives before you eat at there. we need to change the forks and knives because there were some unwanted stains on the cutlery. to be safe, we even cleaned our plates as an extra safety precaution.
we headed to school for our college day briefing:
1st row(from left): Joanna, Xue Lian, Keh kiong, Karissa 2nd row(from left): Si Yuan, Winston, Wingki and ME
all the excos and SLs were present except for our dear pei zhen and sze xin. Our school admin had some problems with the awardees; Karissa were not informed that she was getting the award as well when she was nominated! luckily, she came along with us otherwise we wouldnt be able to share our 'glory' together.
Si Yuan and i had to share chairs with the rest cos the other awardees did not left a seat for us. maybe they were too excited about their prize..

Thats me! haha. But its so small since this photo is captured at a damn far distance. this is my very first CCA leadership award. the school is damn unfair; why only awardees with academic achievements can times and page one vouchers while the ones with CCA achievements have none! we read books and patronise book stores as well!
with Ms Tohafter our ceremony was over, we rushed to the concourse as the school catered food for all of us! yes, we are greedy pigs. haha. anyway, the food is damn good but the cakes were all out fast :(. i had to ask Mrs Lee to get some from the teachers' buffet. hahaha. Winston and i headed to the buffet first and ate our food first!
we took some photos with our dear choir juniors :) they were so envious of us getting yummy food from the concourse. they can take the food what ,they are afterall performers for college day. they finally grabbed some food after we started eating. we took alot of photos in LT1. the councilors must be thinking that we are crazy cos we were all screaming and shouting.

1st pic:with juniors(and our food)2nd pic: the food on our paper plates :)

1st pic: with naughty Enoch2nd pic: talking to the juniors
1st pic: with Alvin2nd pic: with Conniewe went to
the patio to take a look at Mr Koh's and his councilors creation. it's really lovely and cosy. pei zhen and i loved the swing very much; we once swung it really hard. haha.

guys pic: Nat, Winnie and KKgirls pic: Si Yuan, me, karion the swing(kk the
lousy photographer):

we finally went home at about 7 plus with the juniors. however, a few of us decided to sit at the bench while waiting for Winston's father to fetch him home. lucky rich boy :( Kk, kari and i walked to the bus stop and this kk started his usual nonsense once again. he always tried to sing those high note songs and eventually he just cracked. hahaha.
i am really glad that most of us attended the college day event. i really miss my choir mates a lot. most of my happy and memorable times were with them. hope to see you guys on May 31st!

oh yes, help those who are in need! help the
shi chuan(China) earthquake victims and the Myanmar cylone victims by donating. they really need proper sanitation and food, therefore your donation will really make a difference! go to
Red Cross to make a donation or other charity organisations that you know of.

Today was college day.
really had a lot of fun and laughter with my choir mates. <3 you guys alot :)
I know we cant bear to see each other go. but no worries, we're going to meet each other on the 31st again!
i will blog about it once i received my photos :)

dear blog,
i've solved my BTT problem; i've found a nearer date which is 1st July. but still, i'll try to find a June slot if possible.
To those who expressed their concern to me, thanks a lot. :) You guys are the sweetest!
telling you that i am alright is a lie.
i've received SMU's rejection letter. right now, my other friends would have read the letter too. though i know that most of my friends have received this rejection letter and some have not been accepted by the other 2 universities, i do not feel as optimistic as before.
i've been offered by SIM RMIT(marketing) and they expect me to give a reply by 22th May. NUS and NTU, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE ME AN ACCEPTANCE LETTER?!?! NIE has started calling people too, when it's going to be my turn??
now i can even memorise the NUS pin number and password because i checked the system everyday. i'm so sick of waiting for their reply. all the universities are so heartless. :( sigh sigh sigh. so envious of those smarties who have 3 offers at one go and have to think days and nights on what school should they choose. i wish to have those troubles too :(
today went to jog with Ke Min and she's late once again(muahaha). after our jogging session, we went to vivo city and watched what happens in Vegas. It's damn hilarious and i would advise all of you to watch this movie! Ashton Kutcher is so funny in the show. He's cute :).

after movie, we shopped around vivo. i simply just cant find any suitable dress! :( i like a dress from forever 21 but it's not appropriate for teaching and schooling. it's more for casual dating. haha. who will buy me this dress???
i bought some chocolates from a candy shop. their chocolates and cookies looks good. i feel like their rocky road bars. i also bought oat flakes and fruit cookies from Candy Empire- a healthier choice.
Monday met up with Amelia, Si Ying and pei zhen for dinner at IMM. didnt see my dear seniors for a long time, especially Amelia! we ate at cafe cartel; si ying and pz were in love with their bread and butter. haha.
up post pur pictures soon :)
Ke Min and I were so tempted by Gloria Jeans Coffee and toast box's laksa that we promised to eat it in our next trip to vivo. Ke Min is also tempted by the lamb shop that is sold in some florist restaurant near the MRT. it sells flowers and food at the same time. cool eh? you should bring your boyfriend there if you want to hint you not-so-initiative boyfriend to buy you a bouquet of roses :p
Monday, May 12, 2008 || 11:02 PM
i feel so pissed with myself.
i am too dumb not to realise that BTT can only be taken 14 days before evaluation.
and i happily changed my slot from 23th to 4th june when my evaluation date was 28th may.
and i even showed off to my friends that i can finally finish my BTT early.
i am too stupid. i shouldnt be too kan chiong. this characteristic of mine should be erased like ages ago.
bloody hell. i'm mad with myself for being such an idiot.
and now, i'm stuck with 14th july, which is even worse than my previous dates.
ARRGGHHHH.i just don't feel anything smooth that comes along my way; everything seems to be a failure. i am a complete failure.
Not only BTT is giving me headaches, the Universities acceptance is giving me troubles as well.
i am envious of those people who were fretting over what courses to choose. i hope to have such troubles too.
i've only received SIM application and they want a reply by 22th May.
i can no longer remain optimistic. Even NIE doesnt call me for an interview. has everyone lose their hopes on me?
my family is giving trouble to me as well. i feel very tied down, as if sacks of rice were tied to my ankles and i've to walk as if nothing's going on.
i'm bad at handling my emotions.it is a no wonder that i'm suffering from severe headaches. i feel as if my brain is going to explode any moment.
i hate myself for being me.
i hate karen.

Karissa's house Day:
since ke min and i were so bored at home, we decided to go to Karissa's house and play her Para Para revolution in American Idol version. haha. when we met Karissa at the entrance, we paused at the fish pond and admired the fishes in the pond, ranging from luo hans to koi fish. the luo hans were like dominating the entire pond! poor koi fish... but most koi fish are very very fat.

we decided to bake some cookies while waiting for the para para revolution to set up. in this way, we can also enjoy our cookies while one of us were dancing.

baking process

amusing ourselves with cinnamon crunch; damn nice!

washing the dishes

i jsut cant dance my way through. haha look how clumsy am i. you should see how i moved my steps; ke min was laughing like mad. i take a few times to get an A for basic, while the other 2 girls have already reached the advance level. i just dont have any flair for para para revolution.

cookies are ready!
i just love our cookies :)
we danced a little of mass and fun dance, sang a little of our choir songs. sigh, really miss those times when we were on stage singing.
i baked a peach cake for my mum yesterday just for mother's day :). i will upload the photos next time.
getting really sick and tired of this family.
Monday, May 05, 2008 || 9:27 AM
i'm supposed to make notes for my primary 3 kids,
but i'm just too lazy to do so.
haha. no worries, i'll do it later after i've blogged.
i seriously hate my E65 now; sometimes it cant call out and i've to type out the numbers manually and the camera is really bad.
last saturday went out with my mum to bugis street for shopping. i bought a nice checkered top and a damn cute pencil box. it was supposedly bought for my little cousin. however, i was too in love with this pencil box and i already bought her a pencil box from accessorize for her birthday.

Pink pencil box from
Victoria Jomo.
You think i put those toys and mickey mouse figures in it?

think about it again!
Its
EMPTY inside!
such a wonder pencil box right?
i bought it at $12 and i wouldn't say it's very cheap. Since it made in Thailand, it
MUST be cheap right? their 100 baht is S$4.30 and most of their goods are so damn cheap. i bet the cost price is about 100 baht. whats more, she bought it from a supplier. obviously, it's
even cheaper right! i bet she bought it from that wholesale shopping centre,
Platinum there. in that shopping centre, you are forced to buy 3 at one go and if you buy just one piece, it'll be charged slightly higher. but anyway, sine it's so cute, i'll just ignore the price. haha. the lady boss is very friendly to customers so i'll just let it go. ;)
her shop sells many many interesting stuffs and really colourful clutches! she had one design that i bought it in Platinum too! she must have bought it from the same shop!
i really love her clutches but it's not really practical unless you go for functions or gatherings. i still prefer bigger bags which i can just dump my stuffs in and no one can see what junk i have put inside. haha.

bought these at OG bugis. whahaha. my mum's favourite place to shop.
POCKY MEN'S is finally imported from Japan! i fell in love with it when i bought it from the convenience store from Japan. it's a little costly though; it costs $3.50 for just a few sticks of pocky.
Pucca's creamy vanilla ($2.10) is yummy too :)
yesterday, si yuan and i headed to queensway to buy a pair of cross-trainers for myself. the 1st pair i spotted was a pair of nike blue shoes. it's somewhat similar to my brown pair of nike shoes, just that the colour is white and blue. it's nice and costs only $58. haha. sadly, they only had one size which doesnt fit me :(.
then i spotted a nice red adidas shoes that costs $92. i tried my size and when i was about to buy it, the promoter told me that it's not for running :(. there goes my lovely pair of red shoe.
we went upstairs and found another pair of nike shoes. this time it's pink in colour. however, idont really like the design compared to the first 2 that i saw. it costs 65 bucks but the design is quite outdated. i asked the promoter the long is the design and he told me 3 months. i bet it's more than 3 months as i saw someone with this pair of shoes before. i rejected him and left.
we decided to give up searching for my shoes and headed to
ikea for fun. and we saw this pressing for the lift:

hahaha. its actions are so clumsy. this heart stood straight for me just to take a photo by me. so sweet :).
after browsing ikea, we walked back to queenstown MRT station and home sweet home.
no teaching today. its seems like a taboo; every Mondays it seems like no school will call me up for teaching.
little drawings from student. they are all for me :)heading to Karissa's house with Ke Min for some Para Para Revolution later. haha

NEW blogskin :)
chosen by Chee Yong, but still.. i picked this blogskin 1st!
anyway, just read those old posts when i wrote when i was Secondary 3.
i felt so immature and childish. haha.
most posts are filled with several dots(guessed last time is pretty fashionable?) and many emo icons.
it's really really childish. haha
tomorrow is Choir camp.
have to check if any school is calling me tomorrow. hope clementi primary calls me tmr morning :)
i'm off to watch my TV now.
